What is a Virtual Assistant?

Q. What is a Virtual Assistant?

A. A Virtual Assistant is a real person who performs all the duties of an office administrator or office manager, only virtually. More and more business professionals are turning to virtual administrators for all of their administrative needs. The result, a part – time or full – time administrator without all of the overhead a regular employee can bring. Considering an employee? Think of providing office space, computer equipment, paying source deductions including the added costs of CPP, EI (often requiring a bookkeeper or having an HR person to do so), paying for benefits, paid vacation time – and these are just a few things to consider. It just makes sense to contract a Virtual Assistant to save on these unnecessary costs. Not sure how a Virtual Assistant can work for you? Reach out, we will be happy to answer any questions you may have!

Q. Can a Virtual Assistant save me money?

A. Yes! Check out the comparable below:

Q. How do I work with a Virtual Assistant?

A. As Virtual Assistants, we  work for you remotely. We are able to perform pretty much any task for you as long as we have the information, access, instructions, and software available to us online. As Virtual Assistants, we work hours that suit our lifestyle and do not typically have a set schedule. We are independent contractors, not employees. Your tasks, however, will be completed on time and in the way you like. Time spent on each task is carefully tracked with software, and you don’t have to worry about paying for breaks, vacation time, and all of the added costs such as EI, CPP, payroll for, source deductions etc.

Q. Are you able to work with my project management tools?

A. As the owner of Virtually Yours, I have over 20 years of administrative and management experience, and my team has worked with many specialized software applications, and while we may not have worked specifically with your software application(s), with a little instruction we will be able to master the tool(s) you use for your trade.

Q. Do you work on weekends?

A. We work on a schedule that suits our lifestyles and needs, this means we work sometimes during the days, evenings or weekends, and even on sandy beaches or in the woods in a cabin while taking kayak breaks. However, you can reach out anytime and submit projects required via e-mail, or through a phone message or by contacting our Facebook Page. Tasks or projects received outside of our work schedule will be normally started the following business day.

Q. Why should I choose to work with Virtually Yours instead of an overseas Virtual Assistant or online bidding site?

A. We have often heard stories from clients who did not have much success with freelancers on bidding sites or overseas Virtual Assistants who charge very little. Most clients want someone they know they can trust, rely on, who has a good command of the English language, who is experienced, smart, creative, understands their culture, is professional and who is nearly always available to them. It is important to know you can trust your Virtual Assistant with sensitive, confidential information and tasks.

Q.  How do I pay for services?

A. Most work is billed by retainer. Depending on the scope of work, or the time required for the project, you may be required to pay a retainer fee up front, or be billed for part of the project and the balance at completion. Payments are made via e-transfer and are always due at the time of invoicing. Sorry, but cheques are NOT accepted
