Meet Wendie Holbrook! She has lived in PG for over two years! 

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My daughter – she is my world

What is your favourite local store in Prince George and why? 
The hospice – great prices for good clean donated items!

Describe yourself in one word. 
Survivor.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Across Canada on a train with my baby girl so she can experience this beautiful country we call home.

What is your favourite activity in Prince George? 
Hiking on FSR with our two dogs, kayaking.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Putting makeup in front of a window that was mirrored and that had a room full of people on the other side – I was not aware!

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Getting out of a domestic violence relationship and escaping with my daughter.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Living out in the country back in Ontario and being able to invite my whole class for birthday parties.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
We will be volunteering for the Salvation Army kettle drive this coming week and each week until Christmas.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Ending domestic violence.

Where would you sneak away to in Prince George to spend some time alone? 
If I am sneaking – I would not tell you! But actually, a lake where there is no one else around.

Where would you like to see positive change in Prince George and why? 
Honestly, PG has been such a positive change for us, people are very friendly and we are happy with the way things are. Maybe people could slow down when driving!

What do you think makes Prince George great? 
It’s super friendly here!

What is the name of your business/organization?
Virtually Yours.

Why did you get into/start this business?
So that I can be free to work for who I want, when and where I want to – I have more time for my family.

What is the goal of your business?
To hire more people who wish to do the same.

What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
Navigating through domestic violence and trying to gain a sense of normalcy in our lives.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
Tough question, there is for sure one thing I would do differently, but if I did I would not have my daughter!

What do you always find yourself saying?
Words are VERY powerful.

Tell us your best piece of life advice 
There is always light at the end of the tunnel – hang on!

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
I will choose my daughter every time. She is truly the love of my life and my joy. I would love to be able to have one great big adventure day with her where we are not under any time constraints or budget constraints!

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Because it supports small businesses just like my own

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Surviving what we went through and building a whole new life including building a business

Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!
My brother Matthew, he is a paramedic and has worked hard to be there and is a volunteer firefighter, but he has always come through for us and helped us whenever we have needed – and that has been a LOT!
